Füruzan Şimşek was born in 1975 in Istanbul. In 2000, she graduated from Marmara University's Institute of Social Sciences, Painting Department, in Istanbul. Earlier, in 1996, she received a teaching degree from the same university's Atatürk Faculty of Education. Since 2001, Füruzan Şimşek has presented her paintings in group and solo exhibitions in Turkey. Her latest solo show Kimsin sen / Who are you? was staged at Karşı Sanat Çalışmaları (Istanbul 2010). She has also participated in group shows, including What Comes Next? at Meinblau (Berlin 2009), Figüratif // Figurative at AlanIstanbul in 2010, and Suretten Surete at CKSM (Istanbul 2011). Füruzan Şimşek currently lives and works in Istanbul.
